MEET THE TEAM

Are two people really enough to count as a team ? I don't know, let's just go with it.

Well hello there…

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say there are 2 possible reasons that you’ve landed on this page:

  1. You’d like to know a little bit more about Bryce and Laura and how they can help you transform your life
    Or
  2. You’ve ended up here by accident while looking for something completely different and right now you’re wondering why you’re still reading this.

To save time, I’m gonna assume that if you’re STILL reading, then you’re the former. So, without further ado, let’s get to it, shall we?

"You might think that personal trainers are born with bags of confidence. Maybe they just pop into existence ready to go, with abs, funky gym wear, and a set of cookie-cutter programs to sell to the world.

But for Laura and I (This is Bryce btw, Hi!) nothing could be further from the truth. You see, while it would be untrue to say that we got into Personal Training by accident, it’s also kinda true. For both of us, getting into coaching wasn’t part of a grand plan we formed way back when. Really it was a natural evolution for us personally.

For me, I used to hate the way I looked. I’d avoid looking in the mirror and couldn’t stand to have my photo taken. And so I decided to change it.  But, and this is the important bit… ...I didn’t know how. Sure, I knew I could go to the gym, and try to ‘eat healthily’ (whatever that means), but I understood that unless I was doing the right things in the gym and worked out what ‘eating healthily’ actually meant, then I was probably just wasting my time. Which led me to really dig deep into the whole fitness world and find out what was really needed to get into the shape I wanted.

Eventually, when I’d figured it out, becoming a personal trainer was just a natural progression. I realised I had all this knowledge that would be super useful to other people. And Laura’s journey isn’t too dissimilar either. But I’ll let her tell it, I’ve hogged the keyboard for long enough.”

“Hey, it’s Laura. Bryce goes on a bit, doesn’t he? Sorry about that… My journey into fitness started, I guess, much like many people. I used to go to the gym because, well, that’s just what you do if you want to be fit and healthy. Right? Maybe I’d jump on the treadmill for a bit. Or perhaps I’d try some of the machines out. Occasionally I’d go to a spin class. There was no real direction. Just turn up and do what I fancied. But, sadly, no direction often means no (or at least minimal) results.

Then one day it all changed. I decided to start lifting weights. I couldn’t really tell you why. There was no real moment of clarity over it. It was just something I fancied doing. And am I ever glad I did? You see, by starting to lift, I was able to start to track my progress, set goals and see my body start to change. And I realised, to really get traction, I needed to know about nutrition and how that affects performance and the overall health of a person.

So I began to pursue that as well as lifting heavy stuff and keeping in shape. And like Bryce, it seemed the obvious thing to start to help other people reach their own goals. And that is why, having both been made redundant from our ‘regular’ jobs, we founded ‘Effective Coaching’, Our number one goal being, to aid as many people as we effectively can, to overcome the struggles that they have.

To look, feel and BE healthier, fitter, and happier than ever before. We do this by meeting people where they are, and working out what each individual needs to reach their goals. No ‘one size fits all’ regime that will ultimately fail everyone. Just good, honest, bespoke advice and support to help you get where you want to go. So, if you’re ready to get started? Drop your details in the contact box and we’ll be in touch asap.
